Paula Jean Loeffler received her BA in French Studies from the University of Minnesota.  She is interested in Proust, film and film theory, psychoanalytic theory, phenomenology, and problems in modernity and postmodernity such as the death of God, the waning of affect, mourning & melancholia, and nostalgia. She has a particular interest in cinematic suture theory and its role in transcendental cinema.
