Paula Loeffler earned her BA in French Studies from the University of Minnesota. Paula is primarily a medievalist working in the 13th and 14th centuries on Mariology, Catholic mysticism, saints & heretics & martyrdom, and Boccacio & Dante. She has a secondary block of modernist interests that includes the death of God, Proust, and European cinema. She plans to revisit two projects first sketched while an undergraduate: one on representations of the Holy Virgin in French cinema, and the other on la maladie du deuil (the grieving sickness) in The Decameron.
