Émilie Cappella

Ph.D. 2017

A native of France, Émilie Cappella is a Visiting Assistant Professor in French. She holds a dual Ph.D. in French and Francophone studies from Northwestern University and Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris. She also received her M.A. in French Literature and Semiotics from the Sorbonne-Paris IV.

Emilie Cappella has published several books on French historical figures and artists as well as articles on Francophone novels. She’s passionate about the politics of forms and how minority voices are shaping today's literature. 

Emilie Cappella teaches a wide range of courses in French Language and Cultures and will be teaching online from her home in California.
